Prelaunch updates.
4Development.Net is almost ready for its official relaunch. The platform has been rebuilt from the ground up to give individuals, small businesses, and local organisations a reliable place to host their websites without upsells, gimmicks, or the usual hosting noise.
This blog will track progress between now and launch, along with behind-the-scenes updates, patch notes, service improvements and the occasional detour into the tech powering everything.
What’s ready
Core hosting stack
The infrastructure is stable, monitored and backed by UK-based servers with proper redundancy. Sites already running on the platform have been migrated to the new structure without downtime.
Domain and DNS services
Full domain support is in place, along with clean DNS management and SSL handled automatically.
Client area
Billing, service management and support systems are now live through the new client portal. The old manual invoicing system has been retired.
Email hosting and forwarding
Mailbox creation, forwarding, spam filtering and authentication tooling (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) are now standard and included.
What’s coming next
Public launch
Final polish on the main site is underway, along with a tidy-up of documentation and help articles. Once the last checks are complete, new sign-ups will open.
Knowledge Base
A growing set of clear, no-nonsense articles covering domains, email, migrations, backups and troubleshooting.
Weather and tech side-posts
Because 4Development.Net grew out of a weather station, a home-lab and far too many Raspberry Pis, you’ll see occasional posts about upgrades, automation, camera overlays, and other projects running behind the scenes.
Who this is for
4Development.Net is built for people who want their site to work consistently without being dragged through upsells or sold a service they never asked for. This includes:
• Small local businesses
• Individuals who want a dependable hosting home
• Hobbyists and community groups
• Anyone who would prefer a straightforward human response instead of a ticket bouncing around a support queue
If that sounds like you, keep an eye here. The full launch isn’t far away now.
